Ventura County’s Resilient Agricultural Lands Initiative: A Strategic Plan
Ventura County’s Resilient Agricultural Lands Initiative (RALI) is a strategic plan, released May 23, 2023, to build long-term community resilience around agriculture in Ventura County. It was developed through engagement with the agricultural community, ranchers, local government, non-profit organizations, conservation partners, businesses, and agencies.
The plan is organized around four cornerstones: securing a resilient future for agriculture, supporting the growth of a robust agricultural economy, ensuring a viable agricultural land base, and catalyzing community co-stewardship of agriculture. It includes a plan framework, detailed strategies and actions under each cornerstone, and background and context on the regional planning process, plus appendices covering conservation incentives and tools, an economic impact report, a map-based agricultural risk assessment, education and awareness findings, and stakeholder input.
